June’s Loving the Ordinary List for Each & Every Day

June's Loving List 30 Ways for Loving the Ordinary Each & Every Day

30 Ways for Loving the Ordinary Each & Every Day

Every month, I create a list with 30 ways to Love the Ordinary each and every day. It is a list to help you enjoy life by Carefully Curating the days with home, garden, and life, taking time to enjoy the moment alone or with someone special. I’ve expanded on some of these ideas to inspire you further.

Please find one or two to love in June

  1. Plant a unique hanging basket or container for the front entrance. For ideas, visit my Pinterest Container Gardens board.
  2. Take a book to a new cafe, order something different than your norm, sit outside and read, or people-watch
  3. Paint an item on your porch with your signature summer color. Visit my Porches & Patios Pinterest Board for ideas.
  4. Plant some bug-deterring plants. Plant these in pots or by walkways so you brush up against them to release the scent/oils that help discourage the bugs. Some of the plants are citronella geraniums, lemongrass, marigolds, ageratum, catnip, lavender, lemon balm, peppermint, sage, rosemary, basil, bee balm/monarda, tansy, a new one citronella grass (Cymbopogon nardus)
  5. Pile on colors & patterns with new cushions, pillows, or blankets for your porch swing and chairs. Visit my Porches & Patios Pinterest Board for ideas.
  6. Get a new journal to explore your thoughts this summer. I wrote a blog about using a Journal to Capture your Summer. You can read it here.
  7. Purchase a new summer doormat.
  8. Create an outdoor place for yoga or meditation
  9. Set up a pretty tray or basket for yourself to go outside and have tea

  12. Send out local postcards to friends far away
  13. Concoct signature flavored waters or lemonade
  14. Hang a flag today, June 14th, which is National Flag Day. For the history of this day, check this site out.
  15. Pick lavender and bring it inside to dry, or make lavender wands
  16. Get a new phone case to protect your phone at the beach this summer
  17. Create a summer playlist. Sign up for my 100 Days of Summer Fun; you can join any time to get a free worksheet to help you create the ultimate list.
  18. Go to the waterfront, help pick up trash, and create nesting areas for migrating waterbirds – just google ‘where to volunteer to help clean up waterways,’ and local agencies will be available.
  19. Try rowing, paddle boarding, and kayaking as a new exercise & find a club near you for lessons and friendship.

I hope this list sparked some inspiration for June with Loving the Ordinary each and every day

As I said in May, that is my wish for you this summer. ‘I hope June finds you enjoying a moment seasonally, enjoying your home, your garden, and your community**. In addition, may this list of 30 ways for Loving the Ordinary each and every day help you enjoy the month.’ June Blessings to You, Bobbi

** “Community” I use that word to reference all those people in our lives. That is to say a word for our family, those we consider family, friends, neighbors, and those we nod and say ‘hello’ to as we take our morning walks.
