Hello Dear Ones,
Why am I blogging? Why start this?
I have all sorts of ideas in my head – home decor, garden, recipes, health, craft projects and beautiful sightings. I wanted a way to redefine my life – a place to try ideas, keep track of things I like and a place to share ideas. I wanted a place to get to know me better and explore life. Not life as in glossy pictures but life in the everyday. Life in the ordinary yet making in extra-ordinary by loving every moment. Yes it may sound a little boring or blah but life has been so chaotic, rushed and full of stress. So I got off that ride. Now, where do I start to reclaim my life? I decided to start with a breath and a cup of coffee. (It is morning so coffee is the drink of choice.)
Here is a little of the back story as they say…I turned fifty a few years ago. Yeah, what a jolt – 50! I always thought at 50 I would be more _____. Fill in the blank because I thought I’d be more knowledgeable, more calm, self-assured (I’ll explain later), more stylish, more wise, more healthy, more like….just more. You know when you were 23 and the world was in front of you and the older woman in your family and significant influences in your life were 50 they just seemed to “Know”. My Grandmother just knew the answers on every question of life, to be calm even when a bored kid was shadowing her every move, to know every aspect of being a lady getting ready for her first date, how to plant the perfect flower in the right spot in the yard where it flourished, and she knew how to stretch a penny without it feeling like stretching – we were rich in the flavors of food, decor in the home/garden, in appearance/clothing and special relationships.
So, how did I not become this type of woman?…I let life rush me – life lead me not the other way around. My Grandmother worked outside the home (commuting over an hour), she had 5 children, her husband had a business, they lived on a farm, was a member of a close knit extended family, she cared for her neighbors and was a spiritual person. Me, I let my business run me and everything else. NO MORE! I am changing my life and reclaiming it!
This is my resolution — Reclaiming my Life – Finding Joy! Creating a life filled with awesome moments and beautiful days…
Loving the ordinary in everyday. I look forward to this journey and what I’ll find along the way. I invite you to join me and let’s find the beauty again. Here’s a toast to fun times (clunk-clunk, coffee cups don’t clink)….B
